Derek E. Andreini, M.D.
Derek E. Andreini, M.D. joined Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in September 2025. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from West Virginia University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and receiving the Outstanding Senior Award, and his Doctorate of Medicine from West Virginia University. Dr. Andreini completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital / AHN, where he served as team physician for Brentwood, Chartiers-Houston and Bethel Park High Schools. He then completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Andreini specializes in adult reconstruction, including total hip and knee replacement, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement using the Stryker Mako system, direct anterior hip arthroplasty, complex revision surgery, and same-day discharge minimally invasive techniques. He has published research on biomechanical analysis of calcaneal fractures in the Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Trauma and is listed in the Stryker official Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgeons directory. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Dr. Andreini was offered a position at the Cleveland Clinic following his fellowship but chose Pittsburgh to be closer to family and serve his community. Dr. Andreini is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
